ABOUT
Our Rulers are more than just height charts — they’re a way of capturing life as it grows.
Each one is handcrafted from high-quality, environmentally responsible Redwood Pine, carefully chamfered and stained to reflect the look of a traditional school ruler. With measurements in feet and inches on one side and centimetres on the other, they bring a sense of nostalgia — only this time, they reach up to 6'6".
No two Rulers are ever the same. Wood is a natural material, so knots, markings and subtle variations are all part of the character — making each piece completely unique. As timber responds to its environment, we recommend hanging your Ruler as soon as it arrives so it can settle naturally into your home.
The idea began over 15 years ago, when my own children were small and measuring their height felt like capturing a moment in time.
Now, after 9 years in business, those same children have grown up (and are all taller than me!), and I’ve come to see these Rulers as something more than a way to track childhood.
Over the years, I’ve watched them take on new meaning.
A Pilates instructor using one to help clients track posture and regain height.
A ballet teacher showing students how tall they can truly stand.
Interior designers choosing them as functional pieces of art.
Schools, businesses, and families all finding their own way to use them.
What started as a simple idea has become something much bigger — a way to mark progress, celebrate milestones, and create something worth keeping.
Unlike marking a wall, your Ruler moves with you — becoming a lasting keepsake that tells your story over time.
We also offer painted designs in a curated range of Farrow & Ball colours, as well as fully bespoke options. If you have an idea, I’d love to help bring it to life.
Because in the end, it’s not just about how tall you stand — it’s about everything that happens along the way.
